Owl City might be trying to suggest fireflies are like magic. Although being a conceptual music video, Goodwin's theories still fit into the video. For example, there is strong relationship between visuals and the lyrics as keywords from the lyrics such as "fireflies" are shown to be typed out in beat with the music. Also, a good link with music and visuals as the beginning shows the lights around the room being lit in time with the beats of the song.
